Anchor Services
Anchor Presbyterian Church
The Anchor Presbyterian Church meets weekly at 11 am on Sundays in the Chapel at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Britt Johnston leading the service.
The Anchor Church is committed to carrying out the Great Commission by:
  • Providing a welcoming place for Native Alaskans and Christians of all races to worship and have fellowship;
  • Enjoying Jesus Christ in our worship and service to the community; and
  • Connecting people to a real relationship with God, each other, and to the rest of the community.
In recent years, many people from rural areas have migrated to Anchorage. A group from St. Lawrence Island along with the Rev. Alice Green started the Anchor Presbyterian Church as an outreach to Alaska Natives from around the state now living in Anchorage. The purpose was to help people to make the adjustment to big city life by providing a warm, friendly place to meet and worship together.
Services: 11 am Sundays in the Chapel at First Presbyterian Church
Congregation: The congregation consists of Christians from all over the State of Alaska including Barrow, the North Slope, St. Lawrence Island, Nome, Anchorage, and Southeast Alaska, as well as from the Lower 48. The fellowship has between 20 and 40 regular attendees.
